Probably the nicest examples I've had so far.
The colour and patina on these early provincial lath back kitchen chairs is superb and appears original, I've just given them a light wax. The elm seats have a very well-figured grain.
Circa 1840?
No repairs, nails, screws, etc., You can see underneath where the legs have been reglued in the past, which is expected and all well done.
No movement at all, very solid and ready to go.
The seating area is probably a centimetre or 2 smaller than late 19th century/early 20th century examples, but still extremely comfortable for a 'larger' adult (me!) to sit in at the table. I just mention it for transparency.
Price is for the pair.
Height to seat surface: approx. 43cm on one chair, 41.5cm on the other.
Max. seat width (at front of seat): 35cm and 34.5cm.
Seat front to back: 35.5cm on both.
Height to top of backrest: 82.5cm and 82.cm.
