A fine quality tea table from the William IV period, circa 1830-40.

Flame mahogany with stunning and unusual veneer to the top and the wonderful book-matched veneer on the unfolded top.

Wonderful carving on the pedestal and base, with the original worked leather lining the compartment.

The photos really don't do this table justice, so viewings are more than welcome.

Apart from a traditional wax polish to the open top and a traditional light french polish and wax to the rest, this special table is in pretty much untouched condition.

This versatile table is perfectly ready for your home now, or a dealer may like to easily add value and resell.

If you look carefully, two of the 'feet' have long been missing a small swirl of carving to the top - see photos.

Remarkably there is no missing veneer around the edge of the tabletop, just a small slither from the top near the hinge - see photo.

There are minor historic dings around the ends of the base and to the open tabletop - see photos (you may have to zoom in to see detail), all commensurate with age, of course, and reflected in the price.

There are historic smudges, scratches and ink stains to the closed tabletop.

All in all, a wonderful, eye-catching and versatile statement piece with stunning figured veneer.
