A classic 19th-century farmhouse Windsor chair of generous proportions, the elm arms and seat, with beech legs and spindles, some nicely turned details and the H stretcher joining the legs.
There's a makers mark of an upside-down 'GB' on the back edge of the seat.
A good-looking, very tidy example with ample room to sit in comfortably, pondering life’s rich tapestry.
Or why people like Marmite.
This country classic would suit any room in the house.
Perfect for the fireside, at the kitchen table, boot room, hallway or for draping clothes over in the bedroom or bathroom.
Dimensions:
Height to seat: 44cm
Height to top of back: 106cm
Seating area: width 36cm, depth 41cm
Condition:
Excellent, commensurate with age - see photos.
No wobbles, splits, cut-down legs or dodgy repairs, etc.
Just two tiny pin nails to the back of the headrest at some point in its life.
Some evidence of very old worm holes on the back of the headrest that I've treated anyway as a precaution.
