Oh, this is nice, ready for reupholstery.
A classic 18th-century mahogany side chair, with shaped top rail, vase-shaped back splat, on lovely-shaped square legs, united by a shaped apron.
Interestingly, the seat still has, what looks like, its original blue and white/natural striped ticking with a herringbone weave covering horse's hair stuffing. There are also a few whispers of the red material that would've covered this.
As it's also a commode, the seat lifts up to reveal where...er...someone may have...er...read about Mozart's latest opera?
Dimensions:
Height to top of seat: 48cm
Seat width at widest point: 55cm
Depth front to back: 46cm
Height to top of backrest: 96cm
Condition:
Excellent considering its age, expected wear and tear.
No wobbles, heavy, feels rock-solid, no repairs I can see, clean underneath.
Please see all the photos to help with the desciption.
Expecting wear and tear to the ticking.
There are 2 strips of webbing under the seat so the horse's hair is obviously lose.
There's some small wear/loss to the bottom of the back legs, but hardly worth mentioning.
